Old Welcome to Livingston sign post / Town Crest
Was looking through my folders and found this... The sign post is located next to the papermill on the road to Mid Calder.
What do you think of the town crest? Do you think this should be used throughout Livingston on bins and benchs like in glasgow... In Peel park in Eliburn the logo is on the benchs.. But this has been srapped since the LDC was handed over to the West Lothian Council and there logo has been adopted... I personally like it...
It has a meaning... Mark can you shed some light on what in means?

The old LDC Logo can still be seen on a lot of signs throughout Livingston. Post your sighting here.
Looking at some of these pictures makes me think that west lothian council could be doign with spending some money and having them replaced. Or even taken them down would look better.

I must admit I did like the original logo so much so that I used its idea for my company when I was in business a few years ago. I would still have been in business if my business partner and an alleged client didn't jointly rob me. It took me over 18 months to mentally recover from the stress of what I had lost.

Thanks Paul, the website was very smart too but that's consigned to history now.

Hiya peep,
Info on town crest:
The crest is made up of the gillyflowers of the Earl of Livingston, the primrose of Lord Rosebery and a representation of the River Almond.
Hope that helps and yes I'd love to see it back in use but doubt it would ever happen.
Cheers,
Mark
